Path of Exile 2

Plan a connected passive path and compare point allowances

Which route fits the points you have?

Use the passive tree when you need a connected route from your class start to a chosen passive, and you need to see that route against three separate allowances: passive points, ascendancy points, and, in Path of Exile 2, weapon-set points.

How do I allocate a connected path?

  1. Open the tree for the game you are planning. Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 keep separate trees and separate saved plans.
  2. Choose Class and Ascendancy. Changing class starts a new allocation and keeps the point allowances you already entered.
  3. Search for the passive by name or effect, then choose it. That opens the passive and shows how many points the connected route would spend. Choose Allocate, or double-click the node on the tree, to add that route. A single click on the tree only selects the passive.
  4. Open Available points and set the points earned from levels and quest rewards. Passive points, Ascendancy points, and Weapon set points are separate controls.
  5. On the Path of Exile 2 tree, choose Shared, Set I, or Set II before allocating. Shared nodes spend the passive allowance. Set I and Set II spend Weapon set points.

What does a default class route cost?

With no passives allocated yet, each tree opens on its default class. Selecting the passive below adds one connected route. The cost counts passives that spend a point.

Ancestral Bond on the Path of Exile 2 Witch tree

The route adds 17 passives and spends 17 passive points. The open allowances are 99 passive points, 8 ascendancy points, and 0 Weapon set points. This passive spends the passive allowance, so the ascendancy counter stays at zero. Shared mode does not spend Weapon set points.

What can stop the route?

  • The route has to connect to the class start, or to an ascendancy start you have already unlocked. A disconnected selection stays unallocated.
  • A weapon-set route that reaches a keystone, jewel socket, ascendancy passive, or mastery still needs a shared path to that node first.
  • Each allowance is checked on its own. Extra passive points do not fill the ascendancy or Weapon set points counters.
  • Keystones, jewel sockets, ascendancy passives, and masteries stay on the shared allocation.

Where does the allocation go next?

Share link on the tree keeps the allocation in the page address. Equipment planner and Acquisition plan on the tree carry that same allocation when the destination is the same game. Open item comparison when the next decision is which unique the route is for.
